Dear Hiring Manager,
My name is Justin Thorpe, and I am a student at California State University, Northridge, with a strong interest in animation, storytelling, character design, web design, and programming. I am seeking opportunities where I can continue to develop my creative and technical skills while contributing meaningful work.
My portfolio includes a range of class and personal projects that explore visual storytelling through animation, design, and composition. I have experience creating animation studies such as walk cycles, flour sack exercises, and motion-based projects that focus on timing, weight, and personality. In addition, I have worked on design and illustration pieces that emphasize lighting, atmosphere, and emotional tone.
What drives my work is the ability to create media that can shift between different moods and styles. Some of my projects are more serious and atmospheric, while others are playful or experimental. I enjoy exploring that range and finding ways to communicate ideas visually, whether through animation, character design, or interactive web experiences.
A longside my creative work, I have experience building websites using HTML and CSS, which allows me to present my projects in a structured and engaging way. I value the combination of creative design and technical problem solving, and I am interested in continuing to grow in both areas.
